In this video, you will learn about mistakes that novice plumbers make and how to avoid them.

The first tip is to avoid pouring harsh chemicals down the sink. These chemicals may do an excellent job unplugging the drain, however, they may also be corroding your pipes. This can seriously damage the pipes. This may seem like an alright tradeoff. Yet, there is an option that works just as well and doesn’t hurt the pipes either. The trick is to create a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. This mixture causes a chemical reaction that clears out the drain. Best of all, it won’t damage your pipes.

Another common novice mistake is connecting copper pipes to steel pipes. This is an issue because it causes corrosion. Instead, you just need one simple connecting piece. Use a di-electric union to connect the pipes and you will be alright.
